Reveal: Dramatic Little Storm Cloud

Reveal of my 'Sneak Peek No.2'! Ok, so it isn't quite finished yet (a trip to my local craft store is in order as I've run out of metallic gold thread to sew the thunderbolt!), but I couldn't resist sharing. It's dark here too so picture quality not the greatest...
Hanging mobiles of sunshines and rainbows is all very well, but storm clouds and lightening are beautiful too. Let's teach our children this and quash their fears, with this dramatic little cloud and its sparkling raindrops

Reveal: Grapefruit Blanket -alternative name suggestions?

Here she is...

The very first of my 'sneak peek's is revealed... a beautiful blanket. I was inspired by the ripening of local Cypriot Grapefruits and with that in mind, I'd like some help with naming this colourful creation... any suggestions? It fits a single bed (150cms wide by 175cms long when relaxed - it's a squishy soft stretchy one) and of course anyone can own it, but I can see this beauty on a little girl's bed. A girl who is sweet enough and can handle the zestiness of this grapefruity hug. So maybe a lovely gift for the brave young girl who is moving out of her cot and into her 'big girl's bed'? I shall be making a smaller, cot-sized version with a little added extra too, so look out for that one in future.

Note: I started the blog and Facebook page early so I could share the creative process of Made in Summer Street's designs, before launching a whole range, however I feel I'm dangling a carrot, so if you're interested in any items, please pm me and I can give you the details. Sneak Peek No.3!

Ok so I caught the bug of pretty metallics after Sneak Peek No.2! The title of this item will have within it 'Ocean Waves' or similar, I'm sure. I've come up with a way of creating some amazing effects, so much so, these creations don't really require the sparkle of a metallic yarn to make them stand out... but this whole idea of mine is to go beyond beautiful. I'm indulging! For now at least. "Less is more" will come into play for my next inspired piece. Stay tuned :-)

What could it be?!
It's really unfair. You will never guess, as these designs being quirky, they're not necessarily what I'd describe as 'normal' colours for what they are. Ha!

The First Sneak Peek!

I am so excited!!This photo is my first share of one of my many works in progress. A sneak peek! Check out the colours... Fruit Salad, anyone? It's actually inspired by ripening Grapefruits, but more will be revealed in the not too distant future, when my first collection of handmade items will be available to buy. For now though, I am enjoying the creative process and gathering inspiration.
